4.3 Intermediate: Creating and Comparing Project Baselines A baseline is a snapshot of the entire project, taken at a specific moment in time. For instance, when all FPGA requirements have been successfully captured, reviewed, and approved, the project manager can create a new baseline. This new baseline will record all of the project information accurately. More importantly the information will be locked such that modifications to the baseline are not allowed. It is recommended that baselines are linked to project milestones: acceptance of requirement specification, beginning of acceptance tests, end of acceptance tests, etc. Once a baseline is created, its content cannot be modified in any way. Creation, deletion, and comparison of baselines can be done using the Spec-TRACER Administration Center.
