The minimum hardware and software requirements to use Spec-TRACER 2013.05 are as follows:

License Installation

Spec-TRACER uses a floating license on Windows machines. A floating license is a network configuration (multiple users) based on a license started on a remote machine (license server) running on the Windows, Linux, or UNIX platform. The floating license requires the license file. The license contained in the license file can use the FLEXid number of the USB keylock connected to the server's USB port or the hostid of the server's Ethernet card number (except for UNIX machines). Installation Procedure

Users can obtain the latest version of Spec-TRACER from the Aldec website. Once the latest version is obtained, users can follow the steps below to install Spec-TRACER.

  1. Execute the setup.exe file.

  2. The Aldec Spec-TRACER Setup window will appear. Click Next.

  3. Accept the license agreement and click Next.

  4. Users can specify the name and company to personalize the installation. Click Next.

  5. Select the folder of where Spec-TRACER will be installed and click Next. By default, the folder is C:\Aldec\Spec-TRACER <version_number>.

  6. Click Install.

  7. Click Yes to accept the license agreement for Microsoft Visual C++

  8. Spec-TRACER will take a few minutes to install. Once the installation has finished, users have the option to read the release notes. Click Finish to complete the installation process.

    Users can launch the Spec-TRACER client using the icon on the desktop.
